Advancing Drug Evidence Through
Healthcare Big-Data & Beyond

We leverage large-scale healthcare databases and pharmacoepidemiologic
methods to generate real-world evidence on drug effectiveness and safety
— bridging big data and regulatory science.

[ BPE LAB OVERVIEW ]

Advancing Global Health through Pharmacy and Big Data Analytics

The Big-data Analytics Pharmacoepidemiology (BPE) Lab at Ewha Womans University leverages large-scale healthcare databases including NHIS, HIRA, UK Biobank, and All of US to generate robust real-world evidence. Our research bridges the gap between traditional epidemiology and molecular science by integrating biomarkers and multi-omics data for enhanced drug safety and effectiveness.

[ VISION ]

Integrating healthcare big data with cutting-edge omics technologies
to advance evidence-based pharmaceutical policy and precision medicine

[ MISSION ]

• Generating real-world evidence on drug safety and effectiveness
• Developing innovative research linking biomarkers with pharmacoepidemiology
• Training the next generation in advanced healthcare big data analytics

Key Research

Pharmacoepidemiology

Analyzing large healthcare data to evaluate real-world effects and improve causal inference.

Pharmacovigilance

Detecting drug adverse event signals precisely using global databases to ensure patient safety.

Aging

Analyzing links between biological aging and drug epidemiology to promote health in elderly eras.

Multi-omics

Integrating data to identify new biomarkers and predict personalized drug responses accurately.
